The SECO 10008059 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 1/2 inch cutting diameter, five flutes, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The HTA coating extends tool life in demanding applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for consistent results in production environments. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing.
The 10008059 is a stub-length, single-end, centercutting end mill suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and plunge operations. The 5/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it well suited for shallow-to-medium depth cuts in tight setups. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials per ISO material codes P, M, K, S, N, and H.
Designed for use across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. Fits any standard end mill holder or collet chuck with a 1/2 inch bore. Part of the SECO S545 series.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended gauge line and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set per the cutting data for the specific workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the listed length of cut.
