The SECO 10001049 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX160508TR-M13 in manufacturer grade MP2501. It features a parallelogram shape with a 90-degree included angle, a positive rake geometry at 9 degrees, and a T-Land cutting edge style. The CVD-applied Duratomic coating combines TiCN and Al2O3 layers for thermal and wear resistance during milling operations. With two cutting edges per insert and a right-hand orientation, it is designed for screw-mounted installation in compatible indexable milling cutter bodies. This insert is intended for use by machining professionals in production or job-shop environments.
This insert is primarily rated for steel (ISO material code P) and is also suited for stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and superalloys and titanium (S). It is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profile milling operations on CNC machining centers where controlled depth of cut and consistent surface finish are required. The M13 chip breaker geometry supports a range of feed rates and depth-of-cut conditions across these material groups.
Designed for use with SECO cutter series R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16 indexable milling cutter bodies. Conforms to ANSI and ISO designation XOMX160508TR-M13.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the pocket walls and torque the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer specification found in the toolholder documentation. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert to maintain proper runout.
