The SECO 10000077 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the manufacturer designation XOEX160508FR-E07 in the H25 grade. This single-sided, parallelogram-shaped insert is designed for use in indexable milling cutters where a sharp cutting edge and positive rake geometry are required. It measures 0.6063 inches in cutting edge effective length, 0.4016 inches in inscribed circle diameter, and 0.2323 inches thick. The uncoated, micrograin carbide construction suits applications demanding high edge sharpness and low friction, particularly when machining non-ferrous metals and superalloys. The insert is screw-held and features a right-hand cutting orientation with a 15.20-degree relief angle and a 23-degree rake angle. The E07 chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation at typical milling parameters.
This insert is intended for use in precision milling operations on non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys, as well as superalloys and titanium. The positive rake angle and sharp cutting edge reduce cutting forces, which is especially beneficial in thin-wall or vibration-sensitive workpieces. It is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC milling centers and manual mills wherever the compatible cutter body is in service. The insert size code is 160508 and it belongs to the XOEX-16 series. Minimum order quantity is 10 pieces per order, with package quantity of 1.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-XO16 and R220.69-XO16 milling cutter bodies, as specified by the manufacturer.
Insert replacement and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct torx or hex key as specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the screw-held insert; do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can crack under excessive clamp force. Inspect the pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert. Verify insert orientation matches the right-hand designation of the cutter body before resuming operation.
