The SECO 03323696 is a solid carbide taper length drill designed for precision hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built with a 140-degree drill point angle and a TiAlN coating, this drill delivers thermal resistance and wear performance suited to harder workpiece materials and higher cutting speeds. The right-hand spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the through-coolant capability supports deep-hole drilling by delivering coolant directly to the cutting edge. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 10 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians, this drill is a general-purpose solution for production and maintenance environments.
This drill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where taper length geometry and extended reach are required. The 8xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio accommodates deeper drilling passes than jobber-length equivalents. At 0.3750 inches (3/8 inch) diameter, it fits common tool holding setups and is appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The TiAlN finish makes it particularly effective in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions.
Designed as a general-purpose taper length drill for use in standard straight-shank tool holders, drill chucks, and ER collet systems accepting a 10 mm shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures followed per OSHA and shop safety standards. Ensure the collet or chuck bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the specified engagement depth. Through-coolant connections should be confirmed at the spindle before enabling coolant flow. Do not exceed the recommended drilling depth of 80 mm without retracting to clear chips.
