The SECO 03310237 is a CNMG432-M5 indexable turning insert designed for metal cutting operations in CNC lathes and turning centers. Manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, this insert carries the TP25 manufacturer grade and is engineered primarily for cutting steel at P20, P30, and P35 material grades. The 80-degree diamond insert shape provides a strong cutting geometry with a negative rake angle of 17 degrees and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style. With four usable cutting edges and an M5 chip breaker geometry, it balances chip control with edge durability across a range of turning applications.
This insert is suited for boring, facing, and turning operations in job shop and production machining environments. Primary target workpiece material is steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel and cast iron. The neutral hand orientation supports use in standard right-hand and left-hand toolholders configured for CNMG-style inserts. It is installed using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods, making it compatible with a wide range of standard CNMG toolholder systems. The ISO code is CNMG120408-M5 and the industry standard number is CNMG432-M5.
Designed for use in CNMG-style indexable turning toolholders that accept a 1/2 inch inscribed circle insert with clamp, pin, or lever lock retention. Suitable for machining steel (P20, P30, P35), stainless steel, and cast iron. Multi-use application includes boring, facing, and turning.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert screw or clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a fresh edge.
