The round insert shape (Insert Shape Code R) provides a full-radius cutting edge with an included angle of 360 degrees, making it well suited for facing, profiling, and general turning. The insert is neutral-handed and carries a honed cutting edge style with a positive rake angle of 14 degrees and a relief angle of 7 degrees. It fits standard RCMM-style toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods.
This insert is intended for machining steel as its primary workpiece material (ISO material code P), with secondary suitability for stainless steel (code M) and cast iron (code K). Applicable material grades include P20, P25, P30, and P35. The chip breaker designation is 46, and the ISO code for this insert is RCMM120400-46. It is rated for multi-use operations including facing, profiling, and turning, making it a versatile option for job shops and production environments running steel and stainless components.
