The SECO 03276611 is a solid carbide turning insert in the VBMT-F1 series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe operations. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which extends tool life across a range of cutting conditions. The insert features a 35-degree diamond shape, a 0.0157-inch corner radius, and a positive rake angle of 17 degrees with a sharp cutting edge. Rated under manufacturer grade TP25, it is suited for continuous and interrupted cuts in steel and related ferrous materials. Machinists and tooling technicians install this insert as part of screw-held toolholders on production turning equipment.
This insert is designed for primary use on steel workpieces, with secondary capability on stainless steel and cast iron. It supports multiple operations including turning, back turning, facing, and profiling, making it a versatile choice for job shops and production environments. The F1 chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip evacuation during light to medium finishing cuts. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, with an ISO designation of VBMT110204-F1 and an industry standard number of VBMT21.51-F1.
Designed for use in screw-held VBMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. Primary workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P); secondary materials include stainless steel (M) and cast iron (K). Material grades P20, P30, and P35 are supported.
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or tooling technicians using standard insert-seating tools and a torque wrench appropriate to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before installation. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 0.3969 inches to avoid insert fracture or premature edge failure.
