The SECO 03276327 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMU-MF4 series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the industry standard designation DNMU332-MF4 and manufacturer grade TM1501 with a Duratomic CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr for extended wear resistance and thermal stability. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and an MF4 chip breaker geometry with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With four usable cutting edges and a negative rake configuration, it delivers consistent, repeatable performance in finish to semi-finish turning applications. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert using clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholding systems.
This insert is engineered primarily for stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is also rated for steel (ISO material code P), covering material grades M15, M20, and M25. It is suited for back turning, boring, facing, and general turning operations on both horizontal and vertical turning equipment. The MF4 chip breaker geometry is optimized for moderate feeds and controlled chip formation on difficult-to-machine alloys. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards, making it compatible with standard DNMU-style toolholders commonly used in production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for DNMU-style toolholders accepting a 55-degree diamond insert with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, conforming to ANSI and ISO DNMU110408-MF4 specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp hardware for your toolholder style; clamp, pin, and lever lock methods are all supported. Inspect the insert seat and pocket for chips or debris before seating the insert to ensure proper contact and prevent premature edge failure.
