The SECO 03275965 is a CCMT-series indexable turning insert designed for precision metal removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a solid carbide substrate with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, delivering wear resistance across a broad range of cutting conditions. The insert carries an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a neutral hand orientation. The MF2 chip breaker geometry is configured for positive-rake, light-to-medium finishing cuts. Machinists and CNC operators install this insert in screw-clamping toolholders compatible with CCMT pocket geometry.
This insert is rated for primary use on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and secondary use on carbon and alloy steels (ISO material group P). Typical applications include OD turning, facing, and boring operations requiring tight surface finish and dimensional control. The MF2 chip breaker suits finishing and semi-finishing passes where controlled chip evacuation is critical. Material grade designations M25, M30, and M35 indicate suitability across a range of stainless and steel alloy hardnesses. The insert is compliant with both ANSI and ISO standards, with the corresponding ISO code CCMT09T308-MF2.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always index or replace inserts with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp screw to seat the insert fully in the pocket without over-torquing. Inspect the toolholder pocket seating surface for chips or wear before installing a new insert to avoid premature edge failure.
