The SECO 03275944 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMT series, designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the CCMT32.52-M3 industry standard designation and is manufactured to the TM2501 grade with a Duratomic CVD-applied multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr. The 80-degree diamond insert shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry suited for demanding stainless steel and steel applications. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 0.0315-inch corner radius, and a positive rake angle of 18 degrees, this insert delivers controlled chip formation through the M3 chip breaker geometry. It is held in the toolholder by a screw clamp method and offers two cutting edges per insert.
This insert is intended for use in ISO material groups M (stainless steel) and P (steel), making it a practical choice for general turning, facing, and boring operations in production machining environments. It is suited for turning centers running stainless steel components where consistent chip control and edge stability are critical. The M3 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium-depth passes in these material groups. Machinists and CNC operators working with material grades M25, M30, and M35 will find this insert appropriate for their cutting programs. Its neutral hand orientation and standard CCMT geometry allow drop-in use in any compatible CCMT toolholder.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for CCMT-series screw-clamp toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Compatible with boring, facing, and turning applications per manufacturer specifications.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key for the clamping screw; do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide body. Inspect the toolholder seat and shim for debris or damage before seating a new insert.
