The SECO 03275934 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting in CNC lathe and turning center applications. It carries the CCMT32.51-M3 industry standard designation and is manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards. The insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. With an 80-degree diamond shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert is built for general turning, facing, and boring operations on stainless steel and steel workpieces. It uses screw-type insert holding and offers a chamfered and honed cutting edge style for a positive rake geometry.
This insert is suited for medium to semi-finish turning operations on stainless steel (ISO material group M) and steel (ISO material group P) in both production shop and job shop environments. It is appropriate for turning, facing, and boring applications on CNC lathes and turning centers where consistent tool life and dimensional control are required. The M3 chip breaker geometry is optimized for controlled chip formation at moderate depths of cut. The insert is neutral-hand, making it usable in a range of toolholder orientations. Minimum order quantity is 10 inserts; package quantity is 1.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-on toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. ISO equivalent designation is CCMT09T304-M3. Compatible with toolholders accepting CCMT32.51 insert geometry. Suitable for multi-use applications including boring, facing, and turning on stainless steel and steel workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamping screw to avoid micro-movement during cutting. Inspect the insert seat and screw threads for chips or wear before each insert change.
