The SECO 03275909 is a CCMT-style indexable turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the TM2501 manufacturer grade with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, a 0.25-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. It is held in place by a screw-clamp toolholder and is rated for boring, facing, and turning operations. Two cutting edges are available per insert.
This insert is engineered primarily for machining stainless steel (ISO material code M) and steel (ISO material code P), covering material grades M25, M30, and M35. The F1 chip breaker geometry produces a positive rake angle of 17 degrees and a sharp cutting edge style, making it well suited for medium finishing passes and light roughing on austenitic and ferritic stainless alloys as well as low-to-medium carbon steels. It is a standard choice for production turning environments where consistent surface finish and tool life are priorities. The ISO designation for this insert is CCMT060204-F1, and it conforms to both ANSI and ISO insert standards.
Designed for use in CCMT-compatible screw-clamp turning toolholders accepting a 0.25-inch inscribed circle insert. Suitable for boring, facing, and turning operations on stainless steel and steel workpieces. Conforms to CCMT21.51 (ANSI) and CCMT060204 (ISO) dimensional standards, making it interchangeable with any toolholder specified for those insert sizes.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before changing inserts, bring the spindle to a full stop and follow your machine tool lockout procedure. Seat the insert fully against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the pocket and clamp screw for wear or damage each time the insert is indexed or replaced.
