The SECO 03273549 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation LPKT09T420TR-M13 in manufacturer grade MP2501. This single-sided, right-hand insert features a rectangular shape with a 90-degree included angle and a positive rake geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style. Two cutting edges are available per insert. The TiCN and Al2O3 multilayer coating is applied via CVD process under the Duratomic classification, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability during high-demand milling operations. The M13 chip breaker geometry is engineered for consistent chip control across a range of depths of cut up to 0.5512 inches. This insert is screw-held and belongs to the LPKT-09 series.
This insert is suited for face milling and shoulder milling applications where the primary workpiece material is steel. Secondary material compatibility includes stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Typical applications span both roughing and semi-finishing passes in production machining environments. The insert is compatible with cutter series R217.21-LP09 and R220.21-LP09. It is installed and indexed by machinists and CNC operators in job shop and production settings.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.21-LP09 and R220.21-LP09. Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for LPKT-09 series milling bodies accepting screw-held rectangular inserts with a 0.1772-inch hole diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists using the appropriate Torx or hex key for the clamping screw — consult the cutter body documentation for the correct screw size and seating procedure. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before placing the new insert. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges prior to use.
