The SECO 03272990 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation OFER070405TN-ME15 in manufacturer grade MP2501. This single-sided, octagonal insert features a CVD-applied Duratomic coating combining TiCN and Al2O3 layers for extended wear resistance in demanding milling operations. It holds a positive rake angle of 16 degrees with a T-Land cutting edge style, delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.2795 inches, and provides 8 usable cutting edges per insert. The corner radius is 0.0197 inches and the cutting edge effective length is 0.2921 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert into compatible wedge-clamp toolholders as a production-grade indexable cutting solution.
This insert is designed for milling steel as its primary workpiece material and also performs on stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It suits both roughing and semi-finishing passes where controlled chip formation is required. The ME15 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium cutting conditions in those material groups. The insert is compatible with the SECO R220.43-07 cutter series and fits toolholders accepting the OFER-07 series inserts. It is sold individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units per purchase.
Designed for use with the SECO R220.43-07 cutter series and OFER-07 series toolholders using wedge-clamp insert retention. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces per ISO material codes P, M, K, and S.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and all axes locked before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the wedge clamp — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for chips or debris before seating a new edge. Verify depth-of-cut and feed rate parameters against the MP2501 grade recommendations before resuming operation.
