The SECO 03272913 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert in manufacturer grade MP2501, designed for indexable milling applications on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The insert features a dual-layer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 under the Duratomic coating classification, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting zone. With 6 cutting edges, a negative rake geometry, and a T-Land cutting edge style, this insert is suited for productive milling under moderate to heavy feed conditions. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.2953 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC tool setters install this insert in compatible indexable milling cutter bodies.
This insert fits milling applications in production and job-shop environments handling primary workpiece material of steel (ISO material code P) and secondary materials including stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and superalloys and titanium (S). It carries ANSI and ISO code XNEX080616TR-M13 and belongs to the XNEX-08 series. Confirmed cutter series compatibility includes R217.96-08 and R220.96-08. The M13 chip breaker geometry supports versatile cut conditions across this material range. The insert is right-hand orientation and uses a screw holding method for secure seating in the cutter pocket.
Confirmed compatible with cutter series R217.96-08 and R220.96-08. ANSI and ISO designation XNEX080616TR-M13. Insert size code 080616, series XNEX-08.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body manufacturer specification — do not over-torque or use impact tools on insert screws. Inspect the cutter pocket seating surface for chips or damage before seating a new insert.
