The SECO 03272866 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XOMX180616TR-M14 in manufacturer grade MP2501. It is a single-sided, right-hand parallelogram insert designed for use in indexable milling cutters. The CVD-applied Duratomic coating combines TiCN and Al2O3 layers to extend tool life across a range of workpiece materials. With a positive rake angle of 15 degrees, a T-Land cutting edge style, and two cutting edges per insert, it is suited for productive face and shoulder milling operations where consistent chip formation and wear resistance are priorities. Machinists and CNC tooling technicians select this insert for high-output milling on steel and related materials.
This insert is intended for milling applications in metalworking environments — primarily machining steel, with secondary suitability for stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. The M14 chip breaker geometry supports stable cutting performance across moderate to aggressive feed conditions. It is compatible with SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and profiling operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in SECO cutter series R217.69-18 and R220.69-18. Rated for primary use on steel (ISO material code P) and secondary use on stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and superalloys and titanium (S).
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw; do not over-torque the screw, as this can fracture the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert, and confirm correct orientation before resuming cutting operations.
