The SECO 03213570 is a solid carbide milling insert in the SNMX-14 series, designed for high-performance face and shoulder milling operations. This double-sided, square-shaped insert carries the manufacturer designation SNMX1407ANTR-M10 and features an F40M fine-grain carbide grade with a PVD-applied TiAlN and TiN dual coating. It delivers 8 usable cutting edges per insert, a maximum depth of cut of 0.4016 inches, and a negative rake angle with a T-Land cutting edge style. The M10 chip breaker geometry is engineered to handle interrupted cuts and demanding chip control across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. It is compatible with the R220.54-14 cutter series and fits right-hand toolholders that accept the SNMX 1407 insert size code. Typical installation environments include CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shops, production facilities, and aerospace or general manufacturing settings. Licensed machinists and CNC operators handling ferrous and exotic-material components will find this insert appropriate for their tooling programs.
Designed for use with the R220.54-14 cutter series. Insert size code 1407 fits toolholders within the inscribed circle range of 0.5100 to 0.6000 inches and thickness range of 0.2500 to 0.3500 inches. Insert is screw-held and right-hand orientation. Conforms to ISO and ANSI code SNMX1407ANTR-M10.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping screw when securing the insert to avoid seat damage or insert fracture. Inspect the pocket seat and clamping screw for wear or debris before installing a new insert.
