The SECO 03212680 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation LPKT09T420TR-M13 in manufacturer grade MS2500. This single-sided, right-hand insert features a rectangular shape with a positive rake angle of 10 degrees and a T-Land cutting edge style, providing clean, efficient material removal in demanding milling operations. The insert measures 9.5 mm wide and 4.76 mm thick, with a corner radius of 2.00 mm and two cutting edges per insert. A CVD-applied TiCN plus Al2O3 coating delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability, making this insert well suited for production milling environments where tool life and surface consistency are critical.
This insert is designed for milling superalloys and titanium as its primary workpiece material, with secondary suitability for steel and stainless steel. It is appropriate for use in high-volume production and precision milling applications in aerospace, energy, and general machining environments. The insert is secured via screw-clamp holding and fits SECO cutter series R217.21-LP09 and R220.21-LP09. The M13 chip breaker geometry supports reliable chip control across the listed material grades. This part is sold individually and carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in SECO cutter series R217.21-LP09 and R220.21-LP09. Insert series is LPKT-09. Verify cutter body insert pocket specifications before installation to confirm proper seating and clamp engagement.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Seat the insert fully into the pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the tool body manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert, as contamination can affect runout and edge life.
