The SECO 03171132 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built on the JME542 series platform, it features a 1.5 mm mill diameter, a 0.15 mm corner radius, and a 2.3 mm length of cut. The SIRON-A coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability, making it well suited for high-speed machining of tough materials. With a right-hand cutting direction, spiral flute geometry, and center-cutting capability, this single-end tool handles both plunging and lateral milling. The 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank and 7.5 mm reach length make it compatible with standard toolholding systems used in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is intended for professional machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments. It is rated for use on a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous metals. The extended-reach geometry and 1.45 mm neck diameter allow access to features with tighter clearance requirements. Its 2-flute design at this diameter provides adequate chip clearance while maintaining rigidity during roughing operations in difficult-to-machine alloys.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, high-temperature alloys, and non-ferrous metals as defined by material codes P, M, K, H, S, and N.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before operation. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before each use. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds, feeds, and depth of cut.
