The SECO 03095591 is a TNMG543-MR7 triangular carbide turning insert designed for general and interrupted turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces. It carries the TP3501 manufacturer grade with a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, which extends cutting edge life in high-heat, high-speed machining environments. The insert features a neutral hand orientation, a 5/8-inch (0.6250-inch) inscribed circle, a 3/64-inch (0.0472-inch) corner radius, and an MR7 chip breaker geometry with a T-Land cutting edge style. Six usable cutting edges are available per insert, maximizing cost efficiency per part. Qualified machinists and toolroom technicians install this insert in compatible TNMG-style tool holders.
This insert is suited for lathe-based operations including turning, facing, boring, and back turning on both residential-shop and production-floor machinery. Its primary rated workpiece material is steel (ISO material code P, grades P20, P30, and P40), with a secondary rating for stainless steel (ISO material code M). The MR7 chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium roughing to semi-finishing cuts. The maximum rated depth of cut reaches 0.9685 inches, making it capable across a wide range of material removal rates. It conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards and carries the ISO designation TNMG270612-MR7.
Designed for use in TNMG-series tool holders that accept a 5/8-inch inscribed circle triangular insert with a 0.2500-inch hole diameter, using clamp, pin, or lever-lock insert-holding methods. Multi-use application across back turning, boring, facing, and turning operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Verify that the tool holder clamping mechanism (clamp, pin, or lever-lock) is clean and undamaged before securing the insert. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the selected workpiece material grade, and inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for wear at regular intervals per the shop maintenance schedule.
