The SECO 03095450 is a CCMT-series indexable turning insert designed for metal removal on steel and stainless steel workpieces. It features a diamond 80-degree insert shape with a 7-degree relief angle and a neutral hand orientation. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and carries a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, targeting manufacturer grade TP3501. The M3 chip breaker geometry delivers controlled chip formation across a range of feed rates and depths. With a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0315-inch corner radius, this insert suits medium to roughing passes. It is screw-held in compatible CCMT toolholders and provides two cutting edges per insert.
This insert is suited for external turning, facing, and boring operations in ISO material groups P and M, covering carbon steels, alloy steels, and austenitic stainless steels. Material grades P20, P30, and P40 indicate its range from medium to heavy interrupted and continuous cuts. It is a production-floor insert used in CNC lathes and turning centers across general machining, repair shops, and contract manufacturing environments. The multi-use designation covers boring, facing, and turning in a single insert style, reducing the number of tooling items needed on a job.

This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide body. Inspect the toolholder seat and clamp for wear or debris before seating a fresh insert.
