The SECO 03093929 is a solid carbide turning insert in the SNMG322-M5 series, designed for general-purpose material removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries the TP3501 manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating — TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr — for thermal resistance and extended tool life. The insert is neutral-hand with a 90-degree square shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and an 0.0315-inch corner radius. Eight cutting edges are available per insert. This part is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
The 03093929 is suited for boring, facing, and turning operations, with primary application in steel (ISO material code P) and secondary application in stainless steel (ISO material code M). Rated material grades are P20, P30, and P40. The M5 chip breaker geometry and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge make it a practical choice for medium to roughing depth-of-cut passes on ferrous workpieces. It is compatible with standard SNMG-style toolholders that use clamp, pin, or lever-lock insert-holding methods.
Designed for use in SNMG-series toolholders accepting clamp, pin, or lever-lock holding methods. Compatible with toolholders specifying a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 1/8-inch insert thickness, and 0.150-inch hole diameter. Suitable for boring, facing, and turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces at material grades P20, P30, and P40.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing any insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque procedure for the clamp or lever-lock mechanism — do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and susceptible to fracture under uneven clamping load.
