The SECO 03084154 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to the STR440.2 series specification, it features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 0.0200 inch corner radius, and four flutes with a variable high helix geometry. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness suited for cutting stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. The tool is single-end, centercutting, and capable of both roughing and finishing operations. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, medical, and heavy industrial environments will find this tool matched to the material challenges those sectors present.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines fitted with standard Weldon flat toolholders. It is well-suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring in stainless steel, superalloys, and hard materials. The short length-of-cut geometry and rigid micrograin carbide substrate support aggressive feed rates while maintaining dimensional accuracy in difficult-to-machine workpieces. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional spindle setups.
Designed for use with standard Weldon flat toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel, superalloys, and hard materials. Part of the SECO STR440.2 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank fully into the toolholder to the recommended gauge length before tightening set screws against the Weldon flat. Verify runout against the TIR maximum of 0.0005 inches after clamping. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut.
