The SECO 03083874 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-demand material removal in stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 0.030-inch corner radius, a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, and four flutes with a variable helix design that reduces chatter and improves surface finish in difficult-to-machine materials. The AlTiN PVD coating adds thermal resistance and prolongs tool life in high-heat cutting environments. At 3 inches overall length with a 1-inch length of cut, this is a short-series tool well suited to rigid setups. It is single-end, centercutting, and right-hand cutting. Machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers working in job shops and aerospace production environments will recognize this as a capable finishing and roughing tool in a single package.
This end mill fits applications where tight tolerances and controlled surface finish are required on hard or exotic workpiece materials. The extended reach geometry, with a 1.5-inch reach length and a 0.480-inch neck diameter, allows access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. The micrograin carbide substrate maintains cutting edge integrity in abrasive and work-hardening materials. The STRN440.2 series is intended for use with standard straight-shank toolholders, and the 0.5-inch cylindrical shank is sized for common ER and side-lock holders found on CNC machining centers.

This tool is installed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a compatible collet or side-lock toolholder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout at the toolholder does not exceed the maximum TIR specification before commencing a cut. Do not exceed recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material group.
