The SECO 03080715 is an indexable insert drill engineered for precision hole-making in metal cutting operations. Built on the SD522 platform, this drill accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 41.15mm (1.620 inches) at a 2xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The nominal drill diameter is 20.62mm (0.812 inches), with a maximum drill diameter capacity of 21.62mm (0.852 inches). The tool body is constructed from steel, fitted with a 1-inch Weldon Flat and Flange straight shank for secure chuck engagement. Coolant is delivered through an axial concentric entry for consistent chip evacuation at the cutting zone. This drill is intended for use by machinists and tool-room professionals in CNC and manual drilling applications.
The 03080715 is suited for general-purpose drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces across production and job-shop environments. The 2xD ratio makes it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes where moderate depth is required without sacrificing rigidity. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. The tool carries an overall length of 5.051 inches, a flute length of 46.15mm (1.817 inches), and a body length of 71.15mm (2.801 inches). The Modular Connection Size is R7, and the shank length measures 2.250 inches.
Compatible with SD522 drill style toolholders and accepts SPGX0602 and SCGX060204 indexable inserts. Insert lock screw C02205-T07P is specified for this body.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state per applicable machine safety procedures. Secure the Weldon Flat shank in a compatible chuck or toolholder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping torque. Verify insert seating and screw torque before initiating any cutting cycle. Confirm coolant line connections are clear and pressure is within machine specifications before enabling through-coolant flow.
