The SECO 03079570 is a straight-shank indexable insert drill from the PerfoMAX series, engineered for production drilling in steel and general-purpose materials. The body accepts two indexable inserts — compatible styles include SCGX and SPGX — and delivers a maximum drill depth of 134.87 mm at a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The nominal drill diameter is 26.97 mm with a maximum drillable diameter of 27.49 mm. A 1-1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank seats into standard toolholders, and the built-in coolant-through capability supports higher cutting speeds and chip evacuation in deep-hole operations. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC setup technicians in job shop and production machining environments.
The 03079570 is suited for drilling operations in machining centers and CNC lathes where consistent hole quality and insert replaceability reduce tooling downtime. The right-hand cutting direction and coolant-through design make it well matched for ferrous materials and general-purpose drilling cycles. The modular connection size is R7, and the neck diameter of 1.654 inches provides clearance in deep-bore applications. The collar diameter measures 42.00 mm. This drill covers maximum drill depth range applications from 100.00 mm to 150.00 mm.
Compatible with SD525 drill style inserts. Insert styles SCGX and SPGX in size codes 070308 and 0903 are the specified compatible insert formats for this tool body. Insert compatibility reference: SPGX0903.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Before mounting, confirm the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe lockout-tagout state. Verify the shank diameter and toolholder bore match before seating the drill; torque the clamping screws to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect insert seating pockets and confirm inserts are fully secured before initiating a drill cycle.
