The SECO 03079569 is an indexable insert drill from the PerfoMAX series, designed for general-purpose drilling in metal cutting applications. It accepts two indexable inserts and delivers a maximum drill depth of 5 inches at a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. The 1-inch drill diameter and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard machine tool spindles. Built from steel, it features coolant-through capability to manage heat and chip evacuation during deep-hole drilling operations. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC setup technicians in job shop or production environments.
The 03079569 is suited for drilling operations requiring a 5xD penetration depth in materials where general-purpose insert geometry is appropriate. The straight shank with a 1-1/4-inch shank diameter seats into matching tool holders or collet chucks. Coolant-through passages support consistent performance in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation in vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and lathes with live tooling.
Compatible with drill style SD525 and accepts SCGX and SPGX indexable inserts in size codes 0703 and 070308. Designed for use within the SECO PerfoMAX indexable drill system.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool from the holder. Verify shank seating depth and runout with an indicator before initiating a cut. Follow the insert manufacturer torque guidance for clamping screws and confirm coolant-through passages are clear and connected before starting the cycle.
