The SECO 03062545 is a CNMA-series carbide turning insert designed for precision material removal on CNC lathes and turning centers. This insert carries the TK0501 manufacturer grade and features a CVD-applied Duratomic multilayer coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and Cr, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The 80-degree diamond shape (CNMA543) provides a strong included angle suited to demanding cuts. With a neutral hand orientation and a chamfered and honed cutting edge, it handles boring, facing, and turning operations with consistent edge integrity. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with cast iron and hard materials will find this insert well matched to production environments.
This insert is engineered primarily for cast iron (ISO material group K) and hard materials (group H), covering ISO grade designations K05, K10, and K15. The flat-top chip breaker and zero rake angle are optimized for negative-rake toolholders in applications where edge stability and surface finish consistency are priorities. Typical use cases include production turning on hardened components, roughing and semi-finishing passes on cast iron housings, and multi-operation setups involving boring, facing, and OD turning on the same setup.
Designed for use in negative-rake CNMA-style toolholders accepting a 5/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Compatible with clamp, pin, and lever-lock holding methods. Suited for multi-operation applications including boring, facing, and turning on cast iron and hard material workpieces.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists following standard carbide insert seating procedures. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating this insert, as debris under the insert will cause premature edge failure or dimensional error. Follow toolholder manufacturer torque guidance for the clamping screw; do not overtighten.
