The SECO 03046387 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to SD207A series specifications, this drill features a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life in high-heat cutting environments. The 140-degree split point angle reduces thrust force and improves self-centering on entry. With an overall length of 155.00 mm (6.107 inches) and a two-flute right-hand spiral configuration, this drill is engineered for consistent chip evacuation and accurate hole geometry in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find this drill suitable for both manual and CNC spindle applications.
This drill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling passes without sacrificing rigidity. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 14.00 mm diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet systems. Maximum drilling depth reaches 83.00 mm, making it appropriate for through-holes and deep-entry work in structural and machined components. It is not configured for coolant-through delivery, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when working in heat-sensitive materials.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders or drill chucks accepting a 14.00 mm shank. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H indicate suitability for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling professional. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or seating the drill. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear and can cause premature breakage. External cutting fluid or coolant is recommended since this drill does not feature coolant-through capability.
