The SECO 03046372 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. Measuring 8.00 mm in diameter with a 140-degree split point, it delivers clean entry and reduced thrust in hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The TiAlN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life under elevated cutting temperatures. At 110.00 mm overall length with a 72.00 mm flute length, this is a right-hand, spiral-flute drill built for machinists and tool-and-die trades running CNC or manual drilling operations in ferrous and hard materials.
This drill is rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to ISO material groups P, M, K, and H. It fits a wide range of machining applications where a straight-cylindrical shank and consistent diameter tolerance are required. The 9xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling relative to diameter. No coolant-through capability is present, so external or flood coolant delivery should be used when cutting conditions demand it.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application drill for use in standard drill chucks, collet holders, and hydraulic toolholders accepting an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank across CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine powered down and spindle at a full stop. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or chuck to the tool holder manufacturer's specified clamping torque range. Verify runout after installation before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates carbide tool wear. Because this drill has no coolant-through capability, ensure adequate external coolant or lubrication is applied during operation on steel and hard materials to prevent premature coating breakdown.
