The SECO 03046327 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding materials. It carries a 140-degree point angle for aggressive penetration and a TiAlN coating that resists heat buildup and extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) diameter bit runs a 2-flute spiral flute geometry with a right-hand cut and a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 0.2362 inches in diameter. Overall length is 2.5984 inches. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance trades working in production or repair drilling applications.
The 03046327 is suited for drilling into steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials. It is classified under primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H, covering a broad range of ferrous and hardened workpiece categories. The 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling relative to diameter without coolant-through capability, making it appropriate for short-cycle operations with external coolant or dry cutting where TiAlN coating provides thermal protection. It belongs to the SECO SD205A series and conforms to ANSI standards.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for standard collet chucks, drill chucks, and tool holders accepting a 0.2362 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held drilling equipment rated for carbide tooling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard material workpieces.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician following standard machine tool safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing or seating the bit in the chuck or collet. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts beyond tool design limits, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Verify runout is within acceptable tolerance after seating to prevent premature breakage.
