The SECO 03046186 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in the SD205A series, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production and job-shop environments. It measures 6.80 mm (0.2679 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 91.00 mm (3.5854 inches) and features a 140-degree standard point angle that promotes accurate entry and reduces walking on hard materials. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and hard materials at elevated speeds. With a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio and right-hand spiral flutes, this drill is built for consistent chip evacuation and dimensional accuracy in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This drill is suited for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials in both production and maintenance environments. Its straight-cylindrical shank with an 8.00 mm (0.3152 inch) shank diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet holders commonly found on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. The 53.00 mm (2.0882 inch) flute length supports a maximum drilling depth of 43.00 mm (2.0882 inches), making it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole applications at moderate depth-to-diameter ratios.
The SD205A series is rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, and H). This drill fits any chuck or collet accepting an 8.00 mm straight shank.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout before production drilling. Consult the machine manufacturer and tooling documentation for appropriate feed rates and spindle speeds for the target material. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use external coolant or cutting fluid as required by the workpiece material and operation.
