The SECO 03046171 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. It measures 5.50 mm in diameter with an overall length of 82.00 mm (3.2308 inches) and features a 140-degree point angle for reduced thrust and improved centering on entry. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-speed and dry-cutting applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders. With two spiral flutes and a regular spiral type, chip evacuation is consistent throughout the cut. This drill is part of the SD205A series and is suited for machining operations in production and job-shop environments.
This drill bit is intended for use in ferrous and hard-material applications including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials. The 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of 35.00 mm (1.7336 inches). It is a right-hand cutting tool installed in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where consistent hole tolerance is required. The drill carries an m7 diameter tolerance, making it appropriate for precision bore work where fit and finish matter. Machinists and tooling technicians working in metal fabrication, maintenance, and production machining are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct tooling selection within the SECO SD205A series, suitable for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (material codes P, M, K, H) where a 5.50 mm solid carbide jobber drill is specified.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual drilling equipment. Secure the shank fully into the chuck or collet holder before operation, and verify that runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Coolant-through is not supported on this drill; ensure adequate external cooling or dry-cut conditions appropriate for TiAlN-coated carbide tools. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when changing or setting tooling.
