The SECO 03046153 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. Measuring 3.90 mm in diameter with a 140-degree point angle, this drill delivers clean entry geometry suited for harder workpiece materials. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter and seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Overall length is 74.00 mm with a flute length of 34.00 mm, supporting a maximum drilling depth of 29.00 mm. This is a right-hand, regular-spiral, two-flute design from the SD205A series.
This drill bit is engineered for production and maintenance drilling operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials classified under material codes P, M, K, and H. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it suitable for general-purpose jobber drilling in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where consistent bore geometry and chip evacuation are required. It is sized within the 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm drill range and carries an m7 diameter tolerance for controlled fit applications. No coolant-through capability is present, so adequate external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling harder alloys.
Designed for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (material codes P, M, K, H). Part of the SECO SD205A series covering the 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm diameter range. Conforms to ANSI standards.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tool-and-die professional familiar with cutting tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured with proper torque before engaging the workpiece. Because this drill has no coolant-through capability, apply appropriate external cutting fluid to manage heat during drilling of hard or stainless alloys. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping or wear before each use, as solid carbide tools can fracture if run with a damaged edge or improper feed rates.
