The SECO 03043604 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hardened materials. Built on the SN400R series platform, it features a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter with a 0.0373 inch corner radius that protects edge integrity and reduces chipping at the cutting corner. The 4-flute, single-end geometry with a straight flute and 0-degree helix angle is optimized for controlled, stable cuts in tight-tolerance applications. An AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life in high-speed cutting environments. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC tooling specialists in job shop and production machining operations.
The 03043604 is suited for stub-length milling operations requiring extended reach in confined pockets or stepped features. With a 15/16 inch reach length (0.9375 inch), a 0.2730 inch neck diameter, and a 3/8 inch cylindrical shank, it fits standard ER and milling collet holders used in vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills. The length of cut is 0.0160 inch, making it appropriate for finish passes and corner-breaking operations where edge radius consistency is critical. It is not center-cutting, so ramp or helical entry paths are required for plunge-entry applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit tool for standard 3/8 inch cylindrical shank collet holders used in vertical and horizontal CNC milling applications within the SN400R series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing or seating the tool in the collet holder. Use the appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/8 inch shank diameter and verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting cycle. Because this end mill is not center-cutting, program ramp or helical entry moves rather than direct plunge paths to avoid tool damage.
