The SECO 02968235 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for milling operations in steel and cast iron. It features a 6 mm cutting diameter, a 0.5 mm corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a medium helix angle of 28 degrees. The cutting edge is center-cutting and capable of both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. An HXT coating improves wear resistance and thermal stability during high-demand cutting cycles. The extended-reach geometry, with a 12 mm reach length and a reduced 5.6 mm neck diameter, allows access to deep or confined features without sacrificing rigidity.
This end mill is suited for short-length milling applications in ferrous workpiece materials, specifically steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K). The single-end, straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet and end mill holders. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and contouring in precision machining environments such as tool rooms, job shops, and production milling cells. The JH142 series is built for performance in applications where corner integrity and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed for use in standard straight-bore collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for machining steel and cast iron workpieces as noted by ISO material codes P and K.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the holder is torqued to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Do not exceed the tool's rated cutting parameters for the workpiece material.
