The SECO 02950463 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation LPKT05T210TR-M05 and manufacturer grade MS2050. It is a single-sided, right-hand, rectangular insert designed for use in milling applications where tight tolerances and reliable edge life are critical. The insert features a TiAlN and NbN PVD coating applied over a micrograin carbide substrate, providing heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. With a positive rake geometry, an 11-degree relief angle, and a T-Land cutting edge style, it is engineered for efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working with high-performance alloys select this insert for finish and semi-finish milling operations.
This insert is intended for milling superalloys, titanium, steel, and stainless steel. Its primary workpiece material designation is S (superalloys and titanium), with secondary designations of P (steel) and M (stainless steel) per ISO material coding. It is compatible with the R217.21-LP05 cutter series and uses a screw-type holding method. The M05 chip breaker geometry is suited for moderate cutting conditions in difficult-to-machine materials, making it a practical choice for aerospace, energy, and precision manufacturing applications where tool life in exotic alloys is a priority.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing inserts. Use the correct torque screwdriver specified by the cutter body manufacturer when seating the screw-clamp; do not use standard hex keys that may apply inconsistent torque. Inspect the cutter pocket for chips or burrs before seating the insert to ensure full surface contact and proper edge alignment.
