The SECO 02899502 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI/ISO designation SEEX1204AFN-M10 in manufacturer grade MS2050. The insert is square in shape with a 90-degree included angle, four cutting edges, and a neutral hand orientation. It measures 0.5 inches in length and width with a thickness of 0.1874 inches and features a PVD-applied TiAlN and NbN dual coating over a micrograin carbide substrate. The M10 chip breaker geometry, combined with a 5-degree rake angle and honed cutting edge style, is engineered for controlled chip formation and reduced cutting forces in demanding milling applications. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in aerospace, energy, and precision manufacturing typically specify this insert for high-value workpiece materials.
This insert is designed primarily for milling superalloys and titanium (ISO material code S) and secondarily for steel and stainless steel (ISO codes P and M). It is suited for face milling, shoulder milling, and pocket milling operations where a positive rake geometry and tough PVD coating are required to manage heat and tool wear at the cutting zone. The insert seats via screw-holding method and delivers a maximum depth of cut of 0.3425 inches with a cutting edge effective length of 0.5 inches.
