The SECO 02897953 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Part of the SD1105A series, it features an AlCrN coating, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a right-hand spiral flute geometry. The bit measures 11.1 mm (0.4373 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 118 mm (4.65 inches) and a flute length of 71 mm (2.80 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank has a 12 mm (0.47 inch) diameter. It is typically installed by machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals working on precision drilling operations.
This drill bit is engineered for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other hard materials, corresponding to workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H. The 6xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole drilling with consistent chip evacuation. It is suited to CNC machining centers and manual drill presses where close-tolerance results are required. The ANSI-standard geometry and m7 diameter tolerance make it appropriate for production environments and precision maintenance work alike. Coolant-through capability is not included in this configuration.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and other standard drilling setups that accept a 12 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for primary workpiece materials steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H). Part of the SECO SD1105A series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians with the machine powered down and properly locked out per applicable safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and secured in the chuck or collet before operation. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for damage before use; do not run a chipped or cracked carbide bit. Follow machine manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
