The SECO 02881638 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precise chamfering operations on metal workpieces. Part of the JS509 series, it features a 4-flute, right-hand cutting geometry with an 8 mm cutter head diameter and a 90-degree included angle. The SIRA coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting environments. With an overall length of 63 mm and an 8 mm shank diameter, this single-end mill mounts directly into standard collet or end mill holders. Machinists and toolroom professionals install this tool in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines for deburring, edge breaking, and chamfer profiling.
This chamfer mill is suited for chamfering and deburring operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in precision machining environments. The 90-degree included angle makes it a direct choice for standard chamfer profiles on drilled holes, slot edges, and part intersections. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with conventional CNC and manual vertical milling setups. It is packaged as a single unit and is well-suited for both production and maintenance toolroom applications where consistent chamfer geometry is required.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfer mill for use in standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders accepting an 8 mm shank diameter, suitable for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines performing chamfering and deburring operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the 8 mm shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system per the tool holder manufacturer specifications before beginning any cutting operation. Verify spindle rotation direction is right-hand before running. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use external coolant or air blast as appropriate for the material being machined.
