The SECO 02881013 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying the ANSI/ISO designation LPKT05T210TR-M05 and manufacturer grade F40M. It is a single-sided, rectangular-profile insert with a right-hand cutting orientation and a positive rake geometry. The insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN plus TiN dual coating over a fine-grain carbide substrate. With 2 cutting edges, a T-Land cutting edge style, and an 11-degree rake angle, it is engineered for productive face and shoulder milling in demanding materials. Machinists and CNC toolroom technicians use this insert in compatible indexable milling toolholders.
This insert is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, superalloys, and titanium. Primary workpiece material codes are P, K, and S, with secondary codes K and N. It fits the SECO R217.21-LP05 cutter series and is compatible with LPKT-05 series toolholders. Typical applications include face milling, shoulder milling, and high-feed operations on machining centers in both production and toolroom environments. The M05 chip breaker geometry supports a wide range of depths and feed rates across these material groups.
Designed for use with SECO R217.21-LP05 cutter series toolholders and LPKT-05 series indexable milling bodies. The ANSI and ISO code LPKT05T210TR-M05 allows direct cross-reference to equivalent insert seats from other manufacturers that accept the LPKT 05 insert form.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician with the spindle powered down and the machine in a locked-out, tagged-out state. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key driver specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the screw-held insert — do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before indexing or replacing the insert. Handle solid carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges.
