The SECO 02828042 is a solid carbide milling insert carrying ANSI and ISO designation LNKT080531PPTN-M06 and manufactured to the MK2050 grade. It features a double-sided, rectangular LNKT-style body with a negative rake geometry and a T-Land cutting edge style. The insert is PVD-coated with TiSiN and TiAlN layers for heat and wear resistance in demanding milling applications. With two cutting edges per insert, a 0.1969-inch thickness, and an inscribed circle of 0.2953 inches, it is sized for the LNKT-08 series and compatible cutter bodies. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production milling environments are the primary installers.
This insert is designed for milling cast iron as its primary workpiece material, with secondary applicability to steel and hard materials. The M06 chip breaker geometry is suited to medium-grain carbide applications where controlled chip evacuation matters in interrupted or continuous face and shoulder milling cuts. It fits cutter series R335.18 and is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes where depth of cut reaches up to 0.2953 inches. The neutral hand orientation allows use in a range of milling configurations without handedness restrictions.
Designed for use with cutter series R335.18 in the LNKT-08 series. ANSI and ISO code LNKT080531PPTN-M06 applies. Suitable for cast iron, steel, and hard material workpieces per material grade codes K, P, and H.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before changing inserts. Use the manufacturer-specified torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the cutter body specification — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide body. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before placing the insert to ensure proper contact and runout accuracy.
