The SECO 02827880 is a solid carbide milling insert with ANSI and ISO designation XNEX080608TR-M13, manufactured to the MK2050 grade. Designed for high-performance milling, this trigon-shaped, double-sided insert features six cutting edges and a TiSiN and TiAlN PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition. The negative rake geometry and T-Land cutting edge style make it well suited for demanding milling applications where tool life and edge stability are priorities. The insert measures 0.2539 inches thick with an inscribed circle of 0.4913 inches and a maximum depth of cut of 0.2953 inches. It is installed using a screw-type holding method and is right-hand oriented.
This insert is designed primarily for machining cast iron, with secondary suitability for steel and hard materials. It fits the SECO R220.96-08 cutter series and is compatible with XNEX-08 series tooling. Typical install scenarios include face milling, shoulder milling, and general-purpose milling operations on CNC machining centers in both production and job-shop environments. The MK2050 medium grain carbide grade with M13 chip breaker geometry is selected for consistent chip control and stable cutting across varying workpiece hardness levels.
Compatible with SECO R220.96-08 cutter series and XNEX-08 series tooling. Suitable for machining cast iron (ISO material code K), steel (P), and hard materials (H).
This insert is installed and replaced by machinists or tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat and torque the clamping screw per the cutter body manufacturer specification. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
