It carries the CNMG 433-M3 ANSI designation and the ISO code CNMG120412-M5. The insert features a PVD-applied TiAlSiN multilayer coating in manufacturer grade TH1000, engineered for high wear resistance when cutting superalloys, titanium, and hardened materials. With an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, and a 0.0472 inch corner radius, it is suited for roughing and medium machining passes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible toolholders using clamp, pin, or lever lock holding methods.
This insert is intended for use on superalloys, titanium, and hardened workpiece materials classified under ISO material codes S and H. It supports multi-use applications including turning, facing, and boring. The M5 chip breaker geometry handles roughing through medium machining cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.4606 inches. It is suitable for production environments where tool life and edge integrity under high-temperature cutting conditions are priorities. The insert ships individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement turning insert for CNMG-style toolholders accepting a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, negative-rake, 80-degree diamond geometry per ANSI and ISO standards. Verify toolholder designation against ANSI insert code CNMG433 or ISO insert code CNMG120412 before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert.
