The SECO 02812486 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMP-MF1 series, designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It carries a TiAlSiN multilayer PVD coating applied under the manufacturer grade TH1000, giving the cutting edge strong thermal and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. The insert features a 55-degree diamond shape, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32 inch (0.0315 inch) corner radius. With four cutting edges and an MF1 chip breaker geometry, it delivers controlled chip formation during finishing and semi-finishing passes on difficult-to-machine materials.
This insert is engineered primarily for cutting superalloys and titanium (ISO material group S) as well as hard materials (ISO material group H), making it well suited for aerospace, medical, and energy sector components. Typical applications include back turning, boring, facing, and general OD turning. The neutral hand orientation and negative rake geometry support stable, chatter-resistant cuts. It is held by clamp, pin, or lever lock toolholders accepting the DNMP insert style. The ISO designation for this insert is DNMG150408-MF1.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installing a new insert edge.
