The SECO 02807381 is a WCMX-style indexable drill insert designed for use in indexable insert drills across a broad range of workpiece materials. Manufactured from solid carbide with a Duratomic coating process, this insert carries the DP3000 manufacturer grade and features an 80-degree trigon shape with a 7-degree relief angle. The inscribed circle measures 0.313 inches, the thickness is 0.125 inches, and the corner radius is 0.031 inches. It is suited for high-productivity drilling operations where consistent edge life and multi-material capability are required. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual drill platforms.
This insert is intended for use in WCMX-compatible indexable drill bodies across a wide variety of machining applications. The DP3000 grade with Duratomic coating supports drilling in universal workpiece material categories, including cast iron, steel, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and hardened materials, corresponding to ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S. It is well suited for production environments where a single insert grade must cover multiple material types without frequent grade changes. Chipbreaker designation 86 provides chip control geometry appropriate for the trigon insert form.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for WCMX-compatible indexable drill bodies accepting a 0.313-inch inscribed circle insert with an 80-degree trigon geometry and 0.125-inch thickness.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the drill body manufacturer to achieve proper clamping torque — do not overtighten or substitute fasteners. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
