The SECO 02773428 is an indexable square-shoulder end mill built for 90-degree shoulder milling operations in steel toolholders. Designated by ISO number R217.69-01.50-3-10-4A and belonging to the Turbo 10 series, this tool accepts four XO.X 10T3.. inserts secured by screw-clamping. It features a 1.5-inch cutting diameter, a maximum depth of cut of 0.354 inches, and a 4-inch overall length. Through-coolant capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The negative rake geometry is suited for productive material removal in ferrous and other structural materials. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal machining centers for square-shoulder profiling, slotting, and step milling. The Weldon flat shank with a 1.25-inch diameter fits standard Weldon-style end mill holders, making it straightforward to mount in most production shop environments. At a maximum spindle speed of 18,600 RPM, it is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes in a range of industrial machining applications. Compatible inserts include the XOEX and XOMX families per SECO insert compatibility data.
Compatible inserts are XO.X 10T3.. series, with complete compatibility covering XOEX and XOMX insert families as specified by SECO. Designed for use in standard Weldon flat end mill holders accepting a 1.25-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Always power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing the tool from the holder. Torque the Weldon set screw against the flat to manufacturer specifications using the appropriate hex key. Inspect insert seats and seating surfaces for chips or debris before securing inserts, and verify coolant passages are clear before resuming through-coolant operation.
