The SECO 02765956 is a solid carbide trigon milling insert carrying the ANSI and ISO designation XNEX040304TR-M08 in manufacturer grade MP3000. This double-sided insert features a PVD-applied TiAlN coating over a micrograin carbide substrate, delivering six usable cutting edges per insert. It is designed for negative-rake milling applications with a T-Land cutting edge style and a 1/64-inch (0.0157 inches) corner radius. The insert measures 0.2638 inches across the inscribed circle and 0.1295 inches thick, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.1575 inches. It is installed and replaced by CNC machinists and tooling technicians working on milling centers in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for milling hard materials, steel, and stainless steel, corresponding to workpiece material codes H, P, and M. The negative rake geometry and TiAlN coating make it appropriate for interrupted cuts and harder workpiece applications where edge durability is a priority. The T-Land edge prep and M08 chip breaker geometry support controlled chip formation in these material categories. Typical install scenarios include face milling and shoulder milling operations on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers requiring a right-hand insert orientation in the XNEX-04 series insert pocket.
Compatible with SECO cutter series R217.96-04 and R220.96-04. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standard designation XNEX040304TR-M08. Sold individually; minimum order quantity is 10 units.
Insert replacement is performed by CNC tooling technicians following machine lockout and spindle-stop procedures before accessing the cutter body. Use a calibrated torque screwdriver appropriate for the cutter body screw specification — refer to the cutter body documentation for the correct fastener torque value, as it is not specified here. Inspect the insert pocket seating surface for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Handle carbide inserts with care to avoid chipping cutting edges prior to use.
