The SECO 02754811 is a cermet turning insert in the CCMT-F1 series, designed for precision metal cutting in lathe and boring operations. It features an 80-degree diamond shape (insert shape code C) with a neutral hand orientation and a sharp cutting edge style. The TP1020 manufacturer grade cermet substrate is uncoated and bright finished, delivering consistent performance on steel workpieces. With a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a positive rake geometry, this insert is suited for finish and semi-finish turning where tight tolerances and surface quality matter. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in metalworking shops are the primary users.
This insert is rated for steel as its primary workpiece material (ISO material group P, grade P15) and supports boring, facing, and turning applications. The F1 chip breaker geometry promotes controlled chip formation during light to moderate depth cuts. Maximum depth of cut reaches 0.3661 inches, making it appropriate for finishing passes on steel components in both manual and CNC turning setups.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-lock tool holders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 80-degree diamond insert. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards; ISO code CCMT09T304-F1. Industry standard number CCMT32.51-F1.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the tool holder specification; do not overtighten, as this can fracture the cermet substrate. Verify insert seating and tool overhang before resuming cuts.
