The SECO 02754435 is a CCMT-style cermet turning insert designed for precision metal removal in steel and stainless steel machining applications. It features a TP1030 manufacturer grade cermet substrate with a multilayer TiAlSiN PVD coating, delivering wear resistance and edge stability at elevated cutting speeds. The insert has an 80-degree diamond shape with a positive rake geometry and a sharp cutting edge style. The F1 chip breaker geometry controls chip flow across a range of depths of cut up to 0.2441 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible toolholders for lathe and boring operations.
This insert suits finish to semi-finish turning, facing, and boring in steel and stainless steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P and M. Its CCMT geometry and screw-clamping holding method make it compatible with standard CCMT-series toolholders used on CNC turning centers and manual lathes in production and job-shop environments. The neutral hand orientation allows use in both external and internal applications where the holder geometry permits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CCMT-series screw-clamp toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO standards. ISO code CCMT060202-F1; industry standard number CCMT21.50.5-F1. Primary application: steel (P10, P15). Secondary application: stainless steel.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification; do not over-tighten, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the toolholder seat and shim for debris or wear before seating a new insert. Verify insert orientation and chip breaker direction before resuming cutting operations.
